UFUK calls for religious harmony in Nigeria, honours Dogara, Geidam, others-3

This year's edition, which is the
6th in the series, saw various
individuals rewarded for their
contributions to peace in Nigeria. A posthumous award was also
given to the late Reverend Musa
Asake, the former Secretary
General of the Christian
Association of Nigeria (CAN) who
passed on recently. Others include the publisher of
Leadership newspaper; Mr. Sam
Nda Isaiah, minister of foreign
affairs Geoffrey Onyeama,
chairman editorial board, Thisday
newspaper; Segun Adeniyi and executive director, Daily Trust
newspaper, Manir Dan-Ali. Regional Pastor E. Aibitayo
Central Parish (RCCG),
Professor Shehu Ahmad Sa'id
CFR Murshid National Mosque
Abuja, Mrs. Nafisah M. Monguno,
Professor Sambo Wali Junaid Wazirin Sokoto, Mr. Ikeogu Oke,
and Mrs. Maryam Lemu were
also amongst those who received

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) says it will clampdown on commercial motorcycle operators on the AYA-Nyanya road on Monday. Chairman, FCT Ministerial Taskteam on Traffic Management, Mr Ikharo Attah made the disclosure in a statement, on Sunday in Abuja. Attah disclosed that the operation would commence on Monday, March 2, adding that any motorcycle impounded during the exercise would not be released to anyone. According to him, the rate at which commercial motorcycle operators ply the road has reached an alarming proportions. ” While they are permitted to operate at Nyanya and Karu, they are not expected to reach Abacha barracks and AYA in Asokoro District ”. Attah added that the commercial motorcyclists often rode against traffic and at a very high speed, a development that had continued to endanger the lives of other road users. Source: Pulse.ng
