Nigeria coronavirus case increases to 46

Nigeria's centre for disease control on Wednesday morning confirmed two new cases of the coronavirus in the country, bringing the total number to 46.

The two cases are located in Lagos and Osun States.

"Two new cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed in Nigeria: 1 in Lagos and 1 in Osun," NCDC tweeted.

"Both cases are returning travellers to Nigeria in the last 7 days"

"As at 07:00 am 25th March, there are 46 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria. 2 have been discharged with 1 death."

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) says it will clampdown on commercial motorcycle operators on the AYA-Nyanya road on Monday. Chairman, FCT Ministerial Taskteam on Traffic Management, Mr Ikharo Attah made the disclosure in a statement, on Sunday in Abuja. Attah disclosed that the operation would commence on Monday, March 2, adding that any motorcycle impounded during the exercise would not be released to anyone. According to him, the rate at which commercial motorcycle operators ply the road has reached an alarming proportions. ” While they are permitted to operate at Nyanya and Karu, they are not expected to reach Abacha barracks and AYA in Asokoro District ”.
